BEING POLITICALLY CORRECT!!!

While flicking through TV channels last night, i came across an interview of Farooq Abdullah with Barkha Dutt on NDTV 24 * 7. The interview was centered around the availability of ministries in the cabinet as Farooq Abdullah, as reports said, was eyeing one. But what was shocking was the humble answer of the National Conference leader who was always outspoken and stentorian to say the least. It is not just him but many political parties and leaders hoping to get on the good side of the Congress. For example, Mayawati, who was till last week talking high and mighty from her high pedestal, atlast conceded defeat and decided to climb out of her throne lest her political career would fall in a state of desuetude. This election saw the revival of a national party and breakdown of dirty politics played by small regional parties. The parties being aware of that are on a self-defensive mode with the Congress acting as oyer and terminer. But the parties have come to realise that they in order to be with the Congress have to, atleast for now, resort to puffery and remain politically correct.

  1. This election, for a change, saw issue based voting. In a country struck by terror as well as slowdown, people are in no mood to hear stupid racial statements.Congress played its cards well by focusing only on development and restraining from small talk. The trick was to woo the youth and that was Rahul Gandhi's main agenda!!
Very well written blog, keep it up!!

  2. The youth of the country has voted, this time, speaking their hearts out. This unambigiously shows what progress our country is making. This sentence can be taken in two ways, so let people classify their thoughts.

  3. With due respect to the above comments, I would love to supplement and add a new dimension to the abovementioned discussion.India's basic structure is a conglomeration of unitary and federal with a multi party system not a bye party system. The credit for the elections and the comprehensive victory for the UPA Government goes more to the regional parties that congress party.People had three choices (a)a secular party(b)communal party(c)unholy alliance. The reasons for loss of BJP-(1)Advani is not Mr Vajpayee (2)Too many Prime-ministrial candidates(3)Lack of intellectual sense and loads of EGO of Rajnath Singh(4) Projection of Mr Modi in betwwn as PM which was a tactful shrude step taken by insiders so that he will also be considered as a scapegoat along with Varun Gandhi after elections.(5)with such a vast number of muslims and minorities yo cant afford to play the old tricks (6)Arun Jaitleys and Sudhansu Mittals mid rift (7)Over confidence (8)Key advisors ditching party and secretly forming alliance with Trinamool in Bengal and loads of other factots. The unholy alliance is a complete mismatch Mayawati with Left Parties along with Deva Gowda, Chandrababu naidu doestnt gell well. Its like having spanish cuisine with desi golgappa. Most of the so called partners of 3rd front were with the NDA during their regime and statistically they lacked the numbers which defies logic.Prakash Karat and Brinda Karat never moved out of JNU. They lack the basics of Indian politics. They were the chief architects who created an instability and projected Mayawati as their PM candidate. At any given point of time Manmohan vs Mayawati is like an Aus-ireland tie. So the instability created by them left people with no choice but to vote for congress and the entire credit was been given to Rahul Gandhi. But I ask this question to myshelf What about those workers who have been toiling hard for tickets and working as bonded laboures of the party? Dont they deserve any bit of Credit? What about those guys without background or any foreign qualifications having strong credentials as compared to some Desi Babus sons and Daughters?Almost, 7 out of 10 Young MP's Son or Daughter are in Parliament and thats a cake walk for them. India needs leaders!People have voted for a change and in Todays time we dnt have a choice other that Congress party but I pray God that BJP party revive and get back their old charm so that Country can have an opposition who can be a watchdog of the democracy and always keep the Government on its toes. Every power needs a sanction and somebody to remind of their duties or else it becomes dictatorial or abusive. My final Comments people have not voted for Rahul Gandhi, people have voted for Manmohan Singh, His credibility, his personality, his guts and gusto and his rock solid stand on the Nuclear deal. Truely, SINGH IS KING.!
